Diary of Isaac Chauncey Haight, 1842-1850.

Facsimile of diary kept by Isaac Chauncey Haight from 1842 to 1850. Includes descriptions of Joseph Smith's death and its effect on the Mormon community; Haight's time in Nauvoo, Illinois; his travels throughout the eastern United States, including New York, Virginia, and Ohio; his time with the Mormons in Winter Quarters following their explusion from Illinois ("here we are exiled from the United States and without a home, dwelling in tents and wagons"); his travels from Nebraska to Utah; and the election of Brigham Young as first president of the Mormon Church. It also includes multiple pages of Haight's religious musings. The first few pages of the diary include a brief autobiography of Haight's life to 1842.
